LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP
Look, we know— Egg Harbor is not exactly one thing. You have Egg Harbor City, which is completely separated from Egg Harbor Township, which is completely separated from Little Egg Harbor. Whichever spot Van Ronk's finger was on when writing the tune we'll never know, so this was one where we kinda just had to weigh out which had a spot that looked the most interesting to go visit.
We chose to drive the absolutely breathtaking Seven Bridges Road in Little Egg Harbor, which finds its terminus staring out into the Atlantic, with LBI's Beach Haven set to the left and Galloway's marshes to the right. Rutgers operates a marine field station at the end of the road, which is explcitly and strictly off limits. We kept our distance and enjoyed a walk along the waterfront in this remote stretch of land.
