Nestled within Camp Wyanokie, a publicly accessible and affordable spot for tent or lean-to campsites, is Boy Scout Lake— one of those places along our journey where we have no clue what map Dave Van Ronk was looking at which called out this tiny body of water. We had tried to visit this much earlier in our journey, but were quite surprised to see how busy the campground was. Not wanting to impose, we decided to revisit later in the season and were rewarded by a stunning fall day and the whole place to ourselves.
This was a rare one for us— first photo attempt, first frame perfection. A true one-and-done, we were stoked on this capture. Celebrated with a delicious breakfast and the exceptionally charming Vreeland Store just up the road in the Upper Macopin section of West Milford.
